Summary:
Older black woman calls police, thinks there is a prowler outside her house. Police respond, and demand to know the name of her (invited) guest in her house, theoretically because they were worried it was a domestic dispute.
Without her ever acting aggressively towards the officer, the woman who called for police help wound up handcuffed, peppersprayed, repeatedly tasered, and finally hauled off to jail.
For seeking help from the police.
And then the police wonder why old black ladies don't trust them with details like the names of their houseguests.
When I first saw this story, there was no mention of the woman's race. I immediately said to Brian, "I bet she's black."
Sure enough.
