Those of you who saw me crashing, crashing, crashing, and finally vanish yesterday, my computer was overheating to the point of hitting stability problems. I got a reading of 67 degrees celsius, and it probably was higher at points.
So this afternoon, I ran into town and bought a can of compressed air and a case fan. The new fan is in the front of the case pulling air in. (This required a little case modding, my first ever. I'm so proud... or rather, I would be if it looked good. >< The front got a little scratched up. I'll have to sand it down sometime.
So while I used to have the case fan in the back pushing air out the computer, it basically drew its air from the other aperatures in the back, and most the case had minimal airflow, particularly since the front of the case was actually closed off without airholes. (Thus the need for a little modding.)
However, the hottest the processor got all day even in the heat of the day playing games was 48 degrees, with the fan! Before the fan, I was hitting 57 letting it just SIT here.
So, life is good on the computer front.
We seem to have a squirrel. Hopefully, it will be going to a wildlife rehabilitator, but for now, we have a baby squirrel that fell out of a tree and landed on the steps to our garage's upper floor.
It's really quite tiny. Hairless, eyes and ears closed.
We've got kitten formula for it, though hopefully we'll be able to take it to someone else tomorrow and have it out of our hair. (Don't get me wrong, I'll do what I can for it while there's no one else to do it, but I think /it/ would be better off with someone else.
