Yasutora is kneeling on a west-facing balcony, having just finished the evening prayers. Assuming that Ten River Winds has been suitably oathed, he's probably elsewhere, either reading, or learning to read, what Yasutora has ... requested him to do so.

Yoru approaches the balcony upon which Yasutora is praying. Not wishing to disturb the young one, Yoru waits in the doorway silently for a sign that his circle-mate has finished. After a moment he does rustle his coat slightly, giving note of his presence should the other not be aware.

Yasutora rises up from where he is kneeling and smiles; he's not wearing the armor at the moment. "Good evening, my brother.

Yoru smiles and dips his head to Yasotura. "Good even, my friend. I hope the night finds you well."

Yasutora chuckles. "It is more your element than mine, but I am well.

Yoru grins and chuckles softly. "True." He pauses and then steps forward onto the balcony. "I was hoping we might take a moment to talk... about Ten River Winds."

Yasutora nods gravely. "I had suspected as much," the tall youth says. "I am ever ready to hear your words."

"I have agreed to the terms laid out by the council," Yoru starts out solemnly. "That you will try and reform the Terrestial and is in your, our care. I wish to say that I will not impede this in any way, despite my misgivings." Here he pauses to gather his thoughts and allow a reply.

Yasutora nods gravely. "I trust you, and thank you.

"You do realize he may never reform, and continue to be a thorn in our side?" Yoru asks without expecting an answer, having gone over this before. "You even mentioned something about this earlier..."

Yasutora nods again. "Yes, though I sincerely hope otherwise. Should he prove ultimately obdurate beyond all hoe of recall, then I will deal with him both personally and permanently.

Yoru states simply, "I think that is a mistake."

Yasutora quirks an eyebrow. "Why?"

Yoru explains, "While I will leave the decision up to you, I would ask that you do not perform the deed. Killing someone out of the heat of battle can change someone, and I would not like to see that happen in you. I am a Night, allow me to be the headsman. Or Allen, but do not take that task upon yourself."

Yasutora frowns. "There is wisdom in what you say," he admits, "But I have already given my word. And must I not learn to make the ultimate choice when necessary?

Yoru remains calm as he goes on. "You can make the choice without giving hand to the deed. A judge does not carry out the sentence himself. I have seen how reluctant you are to take a life. That can be a valuable trait at times and you should not lose it because of this."

Yasutora replies, "It is true that as a Zenith I am a judge, but I am more than that, my brother. I am a Solar, and if I make a decision to take a life, must I not also have the resolve to carry it through?" He does look rather uncomfortable with the idea, though.

Yoru clasps his hands before him and takes a second to gather his words. "We are all Solars, and we each have an area that suits us. While I am sure you have the resolve to carry through with such an order if necessary, I do not belive this time it is necessary when there is another option." He bows his head here, indicating himself.

Yasutora bows his head slowly, tenseness marring his facial features. He stares off into the distance, for the moment, and then replies, "Very well. If time permits and need does not drive."

Yoru nods and reaches out to pat Yasutora on the shoulder. "I hope that the need does not arrive. Your faith may well reach Ten River Winds. You are firm in your faith, let us hope that he is not as firm in his disillusions. Come, perhaps we can find a drink," he glances sidelong at the youth and amends, "Or perhaps something interesting in this house. Books or games, who knows what this man's wealth has bought him." Yoru smiles pleasantly, hoping to pull his friend away from dark thoughts.k thoughts.
