So, where am I now?

Today's trial at the newspaper went really well. I think I impressed the main prepress guy quite a bit. He's not the one who makes the hiring decision, but he basically has a firm veto on anyone who can't handle prepress (he told me that he thought I had an excellent chance of getting the job - which means, you know, based on his end of things, the prepress, which he'd be recommending for, so I'm certainly not getting a veto there.) There are two other people in the running, one of whom he said probably wasn't getting the job. (Interestingly, this guy's first trial day was /before/ I was called to make a trial run at the whole 'prepress' thing, but he interviewed /after/ me.) Though last night, we got way behind in prepress due to things and things, and some of it being because I was there learning and asking questions (though I caused no overt delays through screwups, at least), today everything went through prepress in no more than 15 minutes, even the big color separations (IE, basically printing time). I like to think I was helpful. Mind, the paper still ran way late, because of OTHER slowdowns in the chain - apparently they're way under-staffed in other departments, too, with people gone, quit, and on vacation.
So now I won't know until /at least/ sometime Monday (Mr. Probably Not In The Running, according to the prepress guy, has a second trial day Sunday; I guess he works week days right now.
Meanwhile the other job I just interviewed for, I'm supposed to hear back from by the end of the week.
Honestly, right now, I'm not sure which I'd prefer, if I got offers for them both. Financially, the other is probably better, plus it's a regular, office hour, weekday schedule (which works nicely around all my existing games and even the tentative time for Ril's), plus less challenging. But...
...I am looking for stability and security, but I /could/ handle this prepress job. I know I can. And challenge is, maybe, a good thing too. Plus, frankly, the whole printing process is /fascinating/. Even if that's not what I'd be doing four out of six work days. Still, fascinating.
So right now, I am feeling sorta peppy, and not nearly as tired as I should be (which is to say, my eyes are blurring but I've got some self-produced upper pumping through me). Except for my feet, which are kinda sore, from being up on them from 4 until 1:30, pretty much. :p
