The one that's getting me right now is all the people running around going "Al Queda killed an American businessman! Why are we still talking about American soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners?! Evil LiberalPress!"

Umm. Lots of people, both civilian and non have been killed since this moronic invasion of Iraq began. I should cry more for one American civilian than for the many Iraqi civilians? Moreover, Americans are more directly responsible for the behavior of American troops than they are for the behavior of Al Queda. American troops represent us. American troops are supposed to have the moral high ground.

If we ever had that in this whole mess in Iraq, we blew it when our soldiers started abusing Iraqi prisoners. If we have any ability to regain it, it is in prosecuting the guilty, in seeking out any other possible human rights abuses in our handling of Iraq, and our handling of other delicate situations.

...Looking into this businessman's death won't do a think, except propogandize.

So when you hear someone squacking about how they want more coverage of that, remember that there's nothing else to say. All they want is to see it ground into general dehumanization of the Arab populace of the middle-east so as to support Bush's war effort, even if it means violating the human rights of a few Iraqi unfortunates.
