Ah, Microsoft.

(Edit: It seems that this URL does not like the 'direct clicking through to' thing. In brief: Apparently, Microsoft has decided to limit Vista's ability to transfer to new computers to 'once' (and that's only for the retail version; the OEM version won't transfer at all.) This will be enforced by their anti-privacy...PIRACY software tools.)

I wonder how Microsoft defines a 'new computer'.

If I yank out my hard drive and put in a larger one, is that a new computer? If I move all my guts into a new case? Replace the motherboard and processor?

Stupid. Stupid, stupid. STUPID.

...ayup. Sticking to XP for a long time yet.

Vista isn't even 64-bit. I'm not about to buy a 32-bit OS for my next machine upgrade.
