Wheefun.

So a while ago LJ implemented that really nice "Click here and a box will magically pop up to comment in" interface.

...I just now noticed that it apparently doesn't work on /my/ journal. Am in S2 and using simple comment pages.

Anyone have suggestions on how to make sure it does?

ETA: Apparently, it's a... well, I'm going to say it's an Opera bug, even though it's not that, exactly.

Apparently, after having said entries working fine in Opera, they decided to make some changes to the entry form (perhaps to fix another browser's bug?), and ran afoul of a bug in Opera, so disabled the dynamic form for Opera. Instead of you know, implementing a very simple workaround.

HOWEVER, you can get a user.js scipt which should fix it.

I haven't got it installed yet, so I don't know if it will. :)

ETA 2:

It mostly fixes it (Still have to load a new page when the comment is posted, it seems.)

For the record, Opera developers say the problem is already fixed in some in-house versions, which probably means Opera 9 (which has a preview release out now!) will have the fix.

Is your browser set up for it? The trick doesn't work in an older Omniweb that I sometimes used on this machine...

Presuming she uses the same browser as I do, and I believe she does, they don't seem to work with the browser (Opera 8.2).

It's always worked for me on other people's LJs. ^^;

And that seems to work.

Mostly mostly. ^^;
