Sometimes, people 'amuse' me. Or "Translating things makes them sexy."

So we have a food page in the paper on Wednesdays, and we usually pick up the columns from a syndicated food magazine.

Today's article was on braising, and informed us that the english name for 'la braise' was the far less romantic 'pot roast'. Yeah, you know what la braise derives from? "Hot Cinders." Wow, that's sexy, boys and girls.

Remember, French is -inherently- sexy.

Worst? The article actually stated that the French term referred to the hot cinders in question. So someone actually wrote that eating hot cinders is more romantic than eating pot roast. Double-you Tee Eff.
