Leti actually -waiting- for a movie!

So when we went to see Avatar, both Brian and I were impressed by the preview for Salt. Looking interesting, the lone action star against the world being a female for a change.

So I looked it up... and apparently the role was originally written for a male (Tom Cruise was the first cast), and they booted him to rework the script when Angelina Jolie said she was interested.

Jolie is close to a deal to play the title character, a CIA officer who's accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy and must elude capture long enough to establish her innocence.

Cruise had long flirted with the project, but that ended recently. The well-regarded script had several male movie stars circling.

Jolie took a liking to it, prompting the studio's decision to rewrite it. Sources said the project won't require that much of an overhaul to suit her.

I like that. I like letting a good female actor step in to a 'male' role as if they're capable of filling the same place in their world (whodathunkit).

Plus, it looked like a fun action flick from the previews. Wheee!
