Of course it's not! Just the work of, oh, a week or so. While simultaneously forging that painting (multiple times) to sell at ridiculously inflated prices, and then sending notes to all the buyers (of course, you used one identity for each buyer. Right? Right?) saying 'we're sorry, but all but one of you has a false painting, these are the other buyers, we're not returning the money until we find out which one has' and watching them kill each other off. For the money /and/ the painting.

And then you just spear the last one alive, collect the false paintings, repeat. Profit!
