I know what I want.

I don't give a damn about your 'designers' and 'collections' and 'in colors'.

I want a nice assortment of interchangable short-and-long sleeved knit shells in strong jewel-tones, weighted to the green-blue end of the spectrum. The should be no lower cut than crew neck, solid weight material that's not see-through.

I also want a assortment of interchangable short-and-long sleeved cardigans, only about waist length plus an inch or two, in the same sorts of colors.

And I want very boring pocketed slacks in a neutral colors - khaki, navy, black.

And that is what I want for my work wardrobe. Mix in a few cableknit sweaters, not the baggy kind just for occasional texture.

Item 3 is usually findable.

Item 2... if you're lucky.

But why, for the love of god, is it so hard to just find a well-made solid color crewneck shell with no stupid attempts to dress it up and make a boring foundation garment 'saucy'? I like boring foundation garments. Boring foundation garments like me. I'm not wearing clothes to 'express myself', thanks. At least in the XL end of things, I swear no one wants to let me just get a pile of identical shirts in long and short sleeves in the colors I like. :(
