Sep. 30th, 2005 11:17 amSo, having Tuesday entirely updated Harle's laptop's Windows installation while here at the library (mmm, fast internet) I set out to do check again.
...Two new critical updates.
...wtf.
Total updating so far:
Windows Update (reboot)
Three items required by Windows Update (reboot)
Internet Explorer (reboot)
20 different security/critical updates, including an IE service pack. (reboot)
...a security update /for the IE service pack/.
...and as of this morning, two more security updates (to be fair, one was for DirectX 9 which was installed last night by other software, and was not previously on here to /be/ updated).
...MS? Get your act together. Basic security should not be this hard.
