Very happy!
So sometime a couple weeks back, I noticed a position in the classified paper for a reading and math specialist at a private elementary school. Showed it to my mom, who just finished earning her teaching degree and who is finishing up math and reading endorsements this summer. She's currently unemployed as her previous place of employment chose to illegally terminate her rather than let her take her vacation during student teaching.
She sent them an email of interest and was going to send them her resume and everything by snailmail, but they replied the next day, so she was scheduled for an interview. The interview was two Fridays ago, the day we went off to the family reunion. (We headed out in the morning and stopped at the school for an hour or two for her to do the interview.) She thought it went well.
So yesterday, after Mom and Dad had headed off on their annual anniversary trip to the ocean, I answered a call for Mom from the place; they wanted to schedule a second interview (as one of the finalists.) I called up the place, got the message to Mom. She stopped by on her way into town today; her interview was /today/, but since she had to come back into town for class this evening anyhow... So then this afternoon, after the interview, but before Mom's class was over, the owner of the school called, wanted Mom to call her back. So Mom just got home now and called promptly. (Yes, the lady left her home number and was informed how late that Mom would probably be calling.)
Mom got the job! She got the job! She's so happy! I'm so happy for her!
I bounce!
