I'll be buying this for Bennu eventually, after I deal with some other critical things, just because fun and Judgmental.

Torc of the Just Sun (Artifact ***) )
leticia: (Exalted)
Golden Essence Font
Cost: 1m, 1wp, 1lhl; Mins: Performance 4, Essence 3; Type: Simple (dramatic action)
Keywords: Combo-OK, Mirror (Sacred Blood Draught), Obvious, Shaping
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Phantom-Conjuring Performance

The nature of a Solar's soul is holy, and their prayers are granted special consideration by the gods, but even a Solar must sacrifice to win highest favor. Nonetheless, a Solar's essence - and blood - have great power, and this means a Solar has the option to sacrifice of their own power and strength, rather than gathering precious objects. This Charm is a prayer action which creates its own Resources 5 sacrifice.
When a Solar uses this Charm, she performs a normal prayer action as appropriate for the god - or other being - she seeks to communicate with. During the course of the prayer, she uses the illusions of Phantom-Conjuring Performance to create a vessel, which is always stamped with the Solar's castemark, but may otherwise vary with the thematics of both Solar and recipient. This vessel appears to be finely crafted of precious materials. It will gradually fill with either blood or sacred oil as the prayer continues, depending on the nature and preferences of the target of the prayer. At the completion of the prayer action, the vessel and its contents will vanish to be delivered to the targeted god.

New Abyssal Charm: Sacred Blood Draught (Prerequisite: Haunting Apparition Trick; MoEP: Abyssals p. 141). The Abyssal mirror to Golden Essence Font will always produce a sacrifice of blood, rather than oil.

I was helping Brian with ideas on Charm Writing, and this came up, and he said -I- had to post it.

All-Creation Weaponmaster Method
Cost: -- ; Mins: Melee 5, Essence 5; Type: Permanent
Keywords: none
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Weapon-Taming Mudra

No enemy of Creation, no matter how disarming, is ever safe in the presence of a Weaponmaster Solar. Such is the power and applicability of the Creation-Ruling Mandate that, answering to her need, even the commonest cruft of Creation bends to the Solar's bloody task and serves as a deadly weapon. A swiftly plucked dandelion is a throwing dart; a broken teacup serves as a khatar; the umbrella of a passing nobleman becomes a dire lance. Treat any mundane object turned to combat purposes as an orichalcum artifact of an appropriate type, with all the durability and advantages of wielding orichalcum. This effect is Obvious.

For each weapon 'created' with this Charm, the Solar must reflexively commit motes equivalent to the artifact rating of the weapon being imitated, plus the normal attunement cost of the artifact. The Solar can release those motes at any time, for instance returning the dandelion to a flower after throwing it. Though there is no limit on how many artifacts the Lawgiver can imbue with power, the weapons can be used by no one but the Weaponmaster herself.

Any effects which would cause an attunement to be lost cause the committed motes to be immediately released and the weapon to return to a mundane object. Nothing, however, prevents the Solar from immediately re-expending and committing the motes.

This Charm cannot create a temporary artifact with a rank higher than 3. If purchased again at Essence 7+, the character may make an artifact of level 4 or 5 with the appropriate commitment of motes. An Intelligence + Melee design roll may be necessary for unusual or complicated artifacts.

Everyone remembers Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop before Corel bought JASC out and made them all clunky and not fun to use.

I've replace PSP with a variety of programs over the years, but I still don't have a good replacement for animation shop for assembling basic images into animated gifs, with or without special effect fades.

What's everyone using for animated icons these days?

It was hard on both of them (but especially him), when she developed super powers; all of a sudden she had no time, too much fame, and he hated the danger she was putting herself in. It was hard on him too, to be weaker than her. (And precognition, of all powers, is /particularly/ annoying in a girlfriend. "I forgot the milk," he'd say, and she'd shrug and say she already ran out to pick some up. And sometimes he was sure she was keeping secrets from him - even about him. He asked, once in a black mood, "Have you seen my death?" and she gave him the oddest smile and shook her head no.) It was hard on her, too, trying to keep up a romance and save the world at the same time. And villains make things even harder.

So here they are in a warehouse; her archnemesis has him captive, and has given her an ultimatum; she serves evil, or he dies.

But all she says is, "My code of ethics requires me to warn you that if you harm him, you will die."

"You would trade his life, then?" the villain demands. "Fine." A gun cracks. He crumples to the floor as the villain says, "You will find that I am prepared for your attempts on my life. I will, however, enjoy your misery."

And she kneels beside him, pain in her eyes; her hand covers the wound, as if trying to erase it. She looks up at the villain, the sorrow fading into pity. "I didn't say that /I/ would kill you." She pauses, turning her face down to his still form. "You should have expected," she comments to the villain, though her focus is elsewhere, "that I've known what happens next for years." With no more attention for her doomed enemy, she bends down, plants a kiss on his warm lips, and waits for him to realize he's not dead after all.

It's much easier for them both after.

I'm bored. Thus, I'm posting an Exalted character no one will care about because she doesn't have and likely never will have a game. Oh well. Not entirely detailed, because, no campaign, so, no campaign. Craft is treated like a generic; specific Craft would probably depend on Game.
As usual, the name is... flexible )

A couple of things, and just one economic post!  First, the content.
I'm not done with this yet, but I wanted to post it, because I think I've hit the point where I might not come back to it.  Both the sheet and the special attunements (particularly the mechanics, eww, crunchy bits) need some fine tuning.  I'm torn between cheesing her out - after all, she's got a dangerous, dangerous task in life - and trying to keep things balanced, and at the moment, I'm succeeding at neither.  I think she'd get her ass kicked, AND she's all combat twinked.  As far as the attunments go, I've thrown out three things, but I'm not sure I want to keep them all because they have slightly different focuses.  But the background and the characterization is pretty much what I want save for organizational and stylistic changes.  Comments are welcome, particularly on the crunchy bits, and I haven't come up with many rites yet.  Therefore...
Edit: Belah has gained some nasty Artifacts.
Belah, Angel of ...Hardcore? )

Ok, so that's content.  Now I'm going to throw a meme at you.  You all remember the question/interview/whatever meme?
Cut for long groan of protest )

I'm back.

Obviously. ;)

Had a great time, got a lot of sun, miraculously avoided actually burning, though I got a little pink from time to time. For me that's a major accomplishment.
Yeah. Not much to say here, move along, move along...

Why can't I write anymore? I swear, my focus just crumbles when I try to write the last several months. Year, I guess.

Not much happening on my end of the universe. I made a pretty patch, but since everyone who reads this either reads the Furc forums or my webpage, you've probably already seen
